Esther Choi, of Mokbar and a ramen-centric Chelsea Market outpost fame, brings Korean gastropub Ms Yoo to New York. Located at 163 Allen Street in the Lower East Side, known as NYC nightlife as a party neighborhood, Ms Yoo fits in well with the cocktail bar vibe. The menu at Ms Yoo showcases bar snacks based on Korean cuisines such as smoked edamame, nori popcorn, and honey butter chips. These treats go well with the music and the lively atmosphere perfect for dancing and mingling. Esther understands that in New York, a Cocktail menu to compliment the food is essential. To make sure that the menu was to the standards of Lower East Side eateries, Esther partnered with a group of mixology veterans of the NYC nightlife to create drinks with Korean inspired flavors, along with a cultivated list of Soju and Japanese whiskeys. As you enter Ms Yoo you’ll find a 40-seat space with a 10-seat bar, which leads up to an upstairs lounge for partying and private events. Designer Steve Lewis took cues from elements along the road of Allen Street in the 19th century by including brass and copper with palatial flourishes in shape and composition, coupled with metallic accents. Upstairs the lounge is warm and inviting and ideal for casual bottle service, private parties and engagements.
